Why We Started The Common Room
We kept coming back to a simple question: where can people truly be themselves, share what they think, listen to others and grow through the experience?
People have conversations every day. We debate, disagree, defend our ideas and share our opinions. And there's nothing wrong with any of that. But what if we approached those conversations with a shared desire to learn, understand one another and become better?
What if people could bring their ideas into a room without worrying about being judged, while still being open to having those ideas challenged? What if people who often feel unheard could find their voice, stand confidently in what they believe, and still make room for a different perspective?

The Common Room is built on the idea that you can come with your convictions and still be open to change. You can disagree with someone without dismissing them. You can speak and also listen. Nobody has to be the smartest person in the room, and nobody should feel too small to contribute.
Personal development, career growth, business, goals and the things we're trying to figure out in life don't always have to happen in formal settings or feel like another task on our to-do list. Sometimes, growth begins with an honest conversation.

We see The Common Room becoming a place where good conversations don't have to end when people leave the room.
A place where ideas find people who can help bring them to life. Where people discover new perspectives, find support for what they're working towards, and build relationships that make growth a shared experience.
Through our gatherings, community, ideas and collaborations, we want to create more opportunities for people to learn from one another, make meaningful connections and take their ideas further.
Because sometimes, what you need to move forward isn't another lecture or another plan. It's the right conversation, a different perspective, or someone willing to help you figure out the next step.

Meet Marvellous Sunmiboye
If there's one thing Marvellous Sunmiboye has done again and again, it's bring people together.
Over the years, he's brought people together who went on to find love, meet business partners and build relationships they might never have found otherwise. For him, connecting people has never just been about putting names and faces in the same room. It's about what can happen when the right people find each other.
Marvellous is a community builder, program manager and someone deeply invested in people's growth. He loves creating spaces where people feel included, energy comes alive, ideas are exchanged and people leave with something they didn't walk in with.
He wanted a space where people could be themselves, speak freely, challenge one another's thinking, find support for their goals and grow together. A space where growth could happen through an ordinary conversation, a new friendship, or someone simply taking the time to listen.
And with The Common Room, he's making room for more of that.
